Beginners Meditation - Hints, Tips + Guides
And simple to incorporate into our everyday lives. In this session, we will focus on finding and releasing negative tension and stress. Now, let's begin the meditation. To start with, find a physical space where you feel comfortable. Stretch out, relax and slowly close your eyes. Start to draw your focus inward, our aim here is to imagine moving away from the physical world.
All sights, sounds and feelings around us begin to slowly disappear. Notice the sensation of drifting deeper and further within. Tune in to the natural timing and rhythm of your breath. Feel the expansion of your tummy as you breathe inward. Breathe out and focus on the air as it leaves your body. Continue breathing and be aware of this unique, present, moment in time.
The past is past, the future has yet to happen, nothing matters, but the now. Tune into your physical self bit by bit. Start at the end of your toes, working your way, slowly upwards and throughout your entire body. Be aware of the first area of physical tightness or tension that you come across and stop. Take a moment to observe and feel this tension, be aware of its presence. Inhale to inspire peace and wellbeing. Exhale to release all stresses and strains no longer serving you. Repeat this sequence of tuning into your physical self bit by bit, then finding, feeling and releasing tension until your entire body feels completely relaxed.
Through our breathing, we become centered in this, the present moment. We find ourselves fully focused on the now, aware of inner peace within the the mind, body and soul. These short, simple and easy to follow steps can now be used in our everyday lives.
